TYVEK® TYVEK

Tyvek® is a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) fiber technical material developed by DuPont® and widely used in museums, archives, and conservation laboratories due to its durability, lightness, and dimensional stability.
Although it has a texture similar to paper, it offers superior mechanical strength, withstanding tensile stresses of 15 to 25% before breaking, as well as being impervious to water and dust.

It is thermoformable and moisture resistant, with an antistatic surface that can be easily cleaned with distilled water.
Unlike other synthetic materials, Tyvek® does not shed fibers, does not generate significant static charges, and is chemically neutral, ensuring its compatibility with sensitive materials.
Its melting point is 135 °C, allowing it to be handled with moderate heat without deformation.

It is manufactured in perforated and non-perforated versions, which expands its applications from bags, sleeves, and protective covers to labeling, cushions, or interleaving of documents and fabrics.
