The AA14 model is part of the AA series of Drop Spine conservation boxes, and is designed as a pHase type sleeve box, conceived to wrap and protect the contents by means of a secure and stable fit.
For the Center for Political and Constitutional Studies (CEPC), Arte y Memoria developed a tailor-made and unified solution to protect the copies of its library during the period of temporary storage in an external warehouse.
The project consisted of the design and manufacture of specific containers that guarantee the physical and environmental stability of the volumes in the face of temperature, humidity and handling variations associated with transportation and storage.
The units were produced with certified conservation cardboard and acid-free materials, selected for their structural strength and long-term stable behavior. The solution made it possible to unify the packaging and storage system, facilitating both identification and future reinstallation of the funds in their final location.
In this way, the CEPC has a temporary protection system that meets the technical standards of preventive conservation, preserving the integrity of its bibliographic collection during the entire logistical process.
The project materialized in the AA14 conservation container, specifically designed to guarantee the physical stability of the volumes.
